Since its inception in 2001 in Dingle, Ireland, Other Voices has been an international music television series and festival that celebrates local culture on a global scale. In recent years Other Voices has also travelled to London, Belfast, Berlin, New York and Texas. 

In 2019, the festival arrived here in Cardigan and it quickly became a 'must-attend' event for performers and audiences alike. The festival's producing partnership consists of Mwldan, South Wind Blows and Triongl.

Regrettably, this year’s Other Voices Cardigan will not take place due to a late and reduced funding decision. The late announcement has left us with insufficient time to secure the alternative funding necessary for hosting an event of this scale.

We remain grateful to Welsh and Irish Governments, Cynnal y Cardi and our national broadcast partners BBC, S4C and RTÉ for supporting Other Voices to date, and we look forward to bringing Other Voices / Lleisiau Eraill back home to Aberteifi in the near future.

A paper version will be available from the Hub. You will also be able to access the schedule via the Aberteifi Live website and the Mwldan website.

Unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints, we will not be producing an App for Gŵyl ABERTEIFI LIVE. A paper programme will be available in advance and on the Hub on the day. Details of line up all events will also be posted online as they release at aberteifilive.co.uk

We will not be operating an open call for artists this year due to the limited number of slots available.

Due to recent changes in legislation, bag checks may be carried out on entry to venues.

If you are the main booker, you can collect wristbands for all the tickets in your booking. For example, if you have booked four tickets, you can collect all four wristbands using your QR code.

Some of our festival venues are intimate with small capacities. If you’re really keen to see a certain artist, then we advise that you get to the venue early for the best chance of a place. Many of the artists will play at least twice during the festival, so you’ll often get more than one chance to see an act.

No, you cannot gain access to any events with your phone. You will need to collect a wristband from the Hub before you can be granted entry to any performances.

We have a limited number of tickets at £15 for under 18's. Please check with individual venues for their policy on admission for minors (which may change later on in the evening). Under 18’s are welcomed at the late night sessions at Mwldan but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

You will not need a wristband for babies in arms (aged two and under), but please be advised that these gigs can be loud, late, and busy, so parental discretion is advised.

All but one of our venues (The Cellar) have level access. In the event that we programme an act in a venue that is not easily accessible, we always schedule an alternative show with the same act in an accessible venue.

Cardigan is the perfect size for a festival. There is only a short walk of just a few minutes between venues, so you can fit a lot in! Many of our artists will play more than once over the weekend, so you’ll often get more than one chance to see an act.

Artist merchandise can be bought at the festival Hub during opening hours.

Gŵyl ABERTEIFI LIVE will take place with no public subsidy, and will be funded solely by ticket sales and community support, and festival organisers have worked to keep ticket prices as low as possible.

We do not provide accommodation.
